Fazoli’s

Fazoli’s may be “quick service” Italian food, but customers are never in a hurry when there’s unlimited breadsticks.
“Even when I go to meetings, people ask me if I’ve brought breadsticks. People just love them,” says Owner Duane McIntyre.
McIntyre opened the Italian franchise restaurant in July 1995, when his location at 4900 Broadway was considered on the outskirts of town. He had called on restaurants as a sales representative for Kohl Wholesale and Kraft Food Service for nearly 15 years before deciding to open his own eatery.
“I knew I wanted to stay in the food industry, and I preferred the structure and proven strategy of the franchise concept,” says McIntyre. “My sister and I visited a Fazoli’s location in Orlando, Fla., and I liked what I saw. The company was relatively young at that time, and Quincy only had one other Italian restaurant. I thought it would be a good fit.”
The Fazoli’s® brand was created in 1988 by Jerrico, Inc., a multi-brand restaurant group based in Lexington, KY, and then parent company of Long John Silver’s® restaurants. Quincy was the company’s 37th franchise area. Currently, there are approximately 230 restaurants in 26 states.
“We don’t own a deep fryer so our meals are healthier than most fast food options,” McIntyre says, noting that three Mini Bakes options contain 400 calories or less. “Everything is baked or boiled. Tomatoes naturally contain lycopene, an antioxidant compound that is heart healthy, and our foods contain zero grams of trans fat. We are fast food without the fat.”
In 2009, Parent’s Magazine recognized Fazoli’s as one of the 10 best menus for kids out of all fast casual restaurants. Spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccini, oven baked pastas, submarine sandwiches, pizza, fresh salad, and even sweet treats are on the menu, which consists of more than 20 entrees priced at less than $6 each.
Fazoli’s is great for family gatherings or business meetings, too. They have take-out Family Meals containing salad, entrée and breadsticks for four people. Nearly 90% of their menu can be prepared in larger quantities for your next lunch or dinner meeting. And, of course, plenty of breadsticks will accompany every catering order.
“Whatever the size your event, we have an option to fit your needs,” says McIntyre. “From a wedding reception to a little league awards dinner, whether you need to feed a large group or just your family, let us help!”
Fazoli’s is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Review the menu online at www.fazolis.com or call 228-9873 for more information.
