Join us as the YP (Young Professionals of Quincy) have a FUNdraising luncheon for Good News of Christmas Family #9! The Good News of Christmas Jingle Mingle is on Thursday, Dec. 6, from noon to 1 p.m. at Dick Brothers Brewery, 9th and York. The cost for lunch is $15, and more than half of the cost of your ticket goes directly to the family. Western Catholic Union has graciously offered to match donations up to $500!
Here’s more information about Family #9: Within the past year, Mom and Dad went from a two-income family to a single-family paycheck with four young children in the home. Mom had started a new career but had to sacrifice it due to her parent’s ailing health, and she wanted to be there for her family. Mom knew this would mean her family would struggle, and it was a difficult decision. Dad can work full time during certain seasons, and it puts a huge strain on the family to pay basic monthly bills. Mom and Dad aren’t sure how they will buy coats for their children, let alone Christmas gifts this year.
The Good News of Christmas campaign, sponsored by the Herald-Whig, has been in existence since 1988. United Way of Adams County notifies the Herald-Whig of families in needs, and the Herald-Whig collects donations for the families. The YP Council chooses one family each year for its annual Good News of Christmas Jingle Mingle luncheon.
The Good News of Christmas Jingle Mingle is open to the public. Enjoy a boxed lunch, silent raffle and more! Click here to register for this event. Hope to see you there!
