The 2022 D&I Academy is a 7-week course program that begins on August 24th with sessions every two weeks and the graduation ceremony on November 16th. Sessions will include experts and panels discussing awareness within the community as it relates to being diverse and inclusive. The objective is for individuals to share their experiences and form actionable steps to bring back to their business or organization

Classes are August 24th, September 7th, September 21st, October 5th, October 19th, November 8th and November 16th from 8:30am – 12noon

Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. It is important to lead in a positive motivating manner to create a positive workplace. With positive leadership organizational goals are achieved and employee satisfaction and morale is improved. This session teaches the key elements, tools, and strategies of positive leadership and how they can be used effectively to motivate employees.

The management role in leading a Performing Team A team is a group of people working together toward a common goal. There is a cycle that people go through when working as a group. It is not a given that they will perform as a team and work toward a common goal together. This takes leadership. This course teaches managers what the four stages of teaming are, how to assess which stage their team is at, and how to build their team to the performing stage. Leaders will understand their role and what tools can be used to develop their team. Teams at a performing stage will achieve great results with highly motivated and satisfied members. This session teaches the what, why, and how of building a team.

  • Learn what the teaming cycle is and the process flow
  • Understand the characteristics are of each stage
  • Learn the benefits of a performing team
  • Understand and identify the “teams” in their organization
  • Identify what traits best describe the stage of the teaming for their team
