Sam's Club - January 26th, 2012

More photos

2012 is going to be a GREAT year for networking! Our first Business Before Hours of the year at Sam's Club drew nearly 100 people! Our thanks to Tammy Closser, Club Manager, and her staff of "superstars," who organized a great event. In addition to a continental breakfast and great networking, we had a scavenger hunt to find clues throughout the store (and learn more about Sam's Club products). The activity ended with every participant receiving a gift basket. What a treat!

During the program, Closser asked trivia questions about Sam's Club. Maria Eckert from First Bankers Trust Company, Nancy Waters and Amie Smith from Servpro of Quincy knew the answers and received a prize.

No representatives from The Knapheide Manufacturing Company, United Community Credit Union or the Quincy Public Schools Foundation were on hand to collect the Chamber's $25 CASH prize, so the pot rolls over and we will attempt to give away $50 on Feb. 23 at the Business Before Hours event at SPECS, 195 S. 36th Street. We hope to see you there!

She says that volunteers don't need to "find" another hour or two in their week to spend time with the children; she matches children and adults with similar interests. So, if you already spend an hour a week at the gym or on the golf course, you just take your Little Brother or Sister along with you. She encouraged attendees to not think about the commitment and "just do it."
