Anita Failor, Audit Manager with Wade Stables P.C., isn’t your stereotypical, suit-and-tie, bean-counter type of accountant.
“We strive to be a more modern type of accountant and not just that traditional numbers-cruncher,” she says. “These days, accountants must focus more on internal controls during an audit. Wade Stables was founded in Hannibal in 1945 and has established branch offices in O’Fallon and Troy, Mo, as well as Quincy. They’ve had an office in Quincy since the early 1990s and moved to their current location at 3325 Maine Street in 2009. Failor is a Certified Public Accountant and her co-worker, Nathan Janssen, is preparing to sit for the CPA exam.
“Our partners pride themselves on hiring highly competent, forward thinking individuals, who are hard-working and dedicated staff members,” says Failor, who earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Illinois University and received her CPA license in 1999. “Then, we invest considerable time and resources in professional continuing education and state-of-the-art computer technology.
“We try to take a proactive vs. reactive approach to our services,” she continues. “By keeping current on new tax laws and legislation, we are in a position to identify key tax planning opportunities that minimize a client’s current and future tax liabilities.
