your tires,” said Greg Andresen, owner of Ron’s Tire, Inc. "A quality tire, along with regular maintenance and proper inflation, helps you achieve optimal gas mileage and performance – and get to your destination safely.”
Andresen and his wife, Tammy, purchased Ron’s Tire in 1994 from Tammy’s father, Ron, who started the business in the Dicks Brothers Brewery building in 1977. Ron’s Tire moved to its current location, 1401 Gardner Expressway, in 1990 and now provides both commercial and retail automotive products and services.
“Our business is more than tires,” said Andresen. “We have a wide range of products and services, including brakes, alignment, suspension, shocks, struts, tune-ups, oil changes, and more. We also sell and install lift and leveling kits for pickups and SUVs and carry over 100 brands of custom wheels.”
Tires, however, are still a primary focus for Andresen and his staff. Recognized tire brands such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Firestone, Uniroyal, Dunlop and Continental are available at Ron’s Tire. In addition to tires for personal and commercial vehicles, Ron’s Tire carries tires for lawn mowers and farm and construction equipment.
To build on the quality products and services available, Ron’s Tires recently acquired a Tire Pros franchise; Tire Pros is one of the largest and most prestigious networks of independent tire dealers in the country. Through Tire Pros, Ron’s Tire is able to provide an industry-leading warranty, including up to one year of free roadside assistance after any service.
“Tire Pros sets high standards, and we had to meet and exceed a lot of criteria,” said Andresen. “We are the exclusive Tire Pros dealer in the Quincy area. The next closest Tire Pros dealers are located in Columbia, Missouri and Ottumwa, Iowa.”
In addition to committing to the high standards of Tire Pros, Ron’s Tire also recently became an AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly® tire and service center. The recently remodeled showroom at Ron’s Tire contributes to a pleasant service experience for both female and male customers. Comfortable seating and current reading material, as well as free soda and wi-fi are available, allowing customers to relax, surf the web, or catch up on work in the event of a short wait.
Andresen has witnessed a lot of progress in the industry, including the relatively new option of nitrogen tire inflation, which will improve fuel mileage and decrease the occurrence of flat tires, and manufacturing technology that results in longer tread life and better performance. However, Andresen says the enjoyment of helping customers by solving their automotive problems and providing quality service has not changed.
