JB&D is an employee owned company that started in Macomb in 1978 and currently works in a 100-mile radius of Macomb and a 50-mile radius of Quincy. A second office is located in Galesburg. JB&D Siding and Window Co. is part of the Prairie Home Alliance, a group of six home improvement dealers in Illinois. Collectively, members of the Prairie Home Alliance have completed more than 100,000 home improvement projects.

Siding and windows is their primary focus, but they also provide a range of home improvements, such as doors, sunrooms, roofing, basement waterproofing, wood front kitchens, awnings, gutter helmets, and decks. The Cornerstone brand of siding and windows is exclusive to Prairie Home Alliance businesses. Cornerstone products are custom made - to meet JB&D's high standards – by the leading national manufacturer of siding and windows.

JB&D also believes their respect for customers sets their business apart from their competition. JB&D employees indicate it is a great company to work for as all employees are treated with respect, and that same respect is extended to customers. 

JB&D seeks to combine the best products with expert installation – and installation is completed by highly trained employees, who have a vested interest in customer satisfaction. Despite the economy, JB&D’s business has been steady – something which can be attributed to both the quality products, product value, and customer-first philosophy. “Energy savings can vary depending on the home and the products, but the savings are usually substantial,” says JB&D. A recent example is when one of their customers installed new windows and premium siding with insulation last year – during last winter's cold snap, the customer  realized $200/month savings on their utility bills. Although that amount of savings is not typical, average customers can usually save as much as 30% on utility bills.
