Meet Dynamic Job Solutions
“Companies can spend as much as 35% of their revenue on human capital, so it is crucial that business owners make the right decisions when hiring, managing, promoting and dismissing employees,” says Barbara Oitker, who founded Dynamic Job Solutions in 2008 following 35 years in the Human Resources field. “We offer employee assessment tools that can reduce some of the uncertainty associated with these decisions.”

Armed with an arsenal of interest and behavior-related surveys, Oitker and her husband, Don, can help managers measure an individual’s basic work-related values, obtain objective insight into an individual’s thinking, reasoning style and relevant behavioral traits, and assess essential knowledge and skills.

“Most of the tests are predictive of future performance,” says Don. “If a manager knows that an individual has certain occupational interests and personal habits, then they can more objectively determine if a prospective employee will be a good fit for their company.”

“These tests are also appropriate for current employees who may wish to advance to a higher position in the company,” says Barb. “Our testing goes far beyond what managers could uncover through typical interviews, performance reviews or day-to-day interactions.”

The first step in using these surveys is defining the position, the work environment and the company’s values. Managers will rate the importance of certain skills, habits, interests and personality traits on a scale of 1-10 based on the needs of their position. This becomes the job model to which candidates are compared.

Candidates then are instructed to go online and complete the assessments. Results are available to the employer immediately after completion.

“There are no right or wrong answers,” says Barb, “and candidates that are eventually selected for the position will probably not match the guidelines in every category. Perfect matches are rare. But the employer will know—before hiring or promotion—those things that will come easy to the employee and the areas that will need work. Those are valuable insights to know about someone in a new position.”

There are separate surveys for employees applying for sales or customer service positions, and more than 1,000 standard skills assessments are available to measure proficiencies in areas such as: software clerical, call center, accounting and finance, medical, nursing, legal, industrial, computer literacy, retail, food services, information technology, staffing and human resources.

Another survey evaluates the effectiveness of current managers and leaders.

“The Checkpoint 360 manager assessment combines feedback from direct reports, peers, supervisors and even customers with a personalized program for developing specific leadership skills based on the feedback,” says Barb.
