Meet Airwave Communications

Michael Perkins and Stacy Hanlin are passionate about helping people find the right communications technology to fit their needs. Established by Perkins in 2005, Airwave Communications provides cellular phone, internet and television service to residents and businesses in the Quincy area.

Airwave’s core products and services include Dish Network television, HughesNet and WildBlue high speed internet, and cellular service by Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. In addition, Airwave provides internet service to customers in the rural Quincy area who may not otherwise be able to receive high speed service.

“We can set anyone up with internet – we offer several different options and products,” said Perkins. The options available depend on where the customer lives, but we have something for everyone. We work with each customer to find out how they will use the internet to determine the right fit for their service.”

Perkins and Hanlin have witnessed a big increase in the awareness of and demand for high speed internet since opening Airwave Communications.

“We have seen an explosion in the demand for downloading data and streaming media such as videos and music,” said Perkins. “We expect that demand to continue to increase, especially as consumers are able to get more bandwidth. However, there is still a big gap in the service available – especially in rural areas. This is why our focus is getting internet to people in those areas, helping them gain access first and then speed.”

Advances in technology, including the availability of high speed internet at home and on mobile devices, has created synchronization among some of the services offered by Airwave Communications.

“Dish Network customers can now watch the programming from their digital video recorder (DVR) on their laptop or phone,” said Perkins. “With certain packages, you can even control your Dish DVR remotely.”

“Now is a great time to sign up for Dish Network service – or to upgrade to high definition (HD) programming,” said Hanlin, Airwave Communications office manager. “We have great specials – like free HD for life - for new and existing Dish customers. Dish also offers generous incentives for customer referrals, including $50 in credit for the existing and the new customer.”

In addition to providing communications technology services, Airwave Communications also accepts payments for most major utilities and several other national companies. This service allows customers to pay several different bills at the same time, in the same place – and on a cash basis.

“Service is what sets Airwave Communications apart,” said Hanlin. “We are a local business, we care about our customers, and are committed to providing accessible, personal, and consistent service.”
